Welcome to St Andrew’s Church, Dean Court!

We are a friendly church on the western edge of Oxford. We meet on Sundays to worship God together, and at other times to help our community in practical ways, to learn more about our faith and to share it with others.

St Andrew’s Church has been part of the Dean Court community since it was built in 1962. It belongs to Cumnor Church of England parish along with St Michael’s, Cumnor and St Mary’s, Farmoor.

Next door to the main church building we have the smaller St Andrew’s Centre (STAC), used primarily for children’s and young people’s activities. There is also the Orchard games area, a multi-use court, opened in 2012 by Olympic gold medallist Lily van den Broeke, which is open all the time for community use.

Our vicar is Revd Jonathan Widdess who came in March 2017. Find out more about him!

The parish is part of the Diocese of Oxford which covers (roughly) Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.  As it is such a large area, the diocese is divided into smaller areas, each with its own bishop. Our parish (which was once in Berkshire) is part of the the Dorchester (on Thames, not Dorset!) area; our bishop is the Right Revd Colin Fletcher.  We are part of Abingdon Deanery.
